Anish Kapoor

The Anish Kapoor exhibition was fantastic, although it was smaller than I had expected. ‘Tall Tree and the Eye’ was so beautiful I could have spent all day just circling it, looking at its different reflections if it hadn’t been so cold. At first I only saw the courtyard and people in it’s reflection but I suddenly saw it’s own presence in some of the reflections too and that’s when I really appreciated it. Some showed other balls framing the courtyard which made the most exciting viewing. My husband and I kept calling each other over to see our latest discovery.

I spent a lot of time in the room with ‘Yellow’ in it. Quite a tranquil experience away from the crowded rooms. ‘Svayambh’ had to be my favourite piece though, I went from room to room viewing it. I would have liked to spend the time of it’s whole journey in the end room but it was so busy I couldn’t get a full view of it. Funny how moving wax was so captivating.
