My friend Carol Ramsay was asked to participate in this exhibition and she put my name forward. I was originally going to make my own books but I couldn’t get any inspiration or motivation.
I’ve been working on an idea that combines the human body with climate change, bizarre I know, but I was inspired by lung tissue when making a book last year and wanted to progress with it.
Recently I was going to sort through all my old books (I’ve kept them even with the covers off and pages missing) and throw away the ones that can’t be saved, when the idea of using them instead of making my own popped in my head. They’re now little tree like things and I’m hoping when I’ve made enough they’ll look like a little forest, being the ‘Lungs of the World’.
