Inner Beauty

So now that I’ve decided for definite what I’m going to be showing I’ve been thinking what I want to write as my statement, what the work means to me etc. This is what I started with months ago, but I haven’t worked on it since then:

‘Inner beauty’ was inspired by microscopic images of inside the human body and was constructed from layers of ‘skin’ from parts of magazine pages (fashion, beauty and glamour) using the skin tones of the models.’

Can I leave the statement that open and vague? I’ve spent this evening trying to articulate what it is I’m thinking and what I’m wanting to say. But I keep staring at a blank page. Do I want to comment on the beauty/ fashion/ glamour industry as that’s the material I used to base my work on? I wanted to make something beautiful out of inner body patterns to emphasize that it’s who we are (the person within) that’s important and I thought that by using the magazine body parts I would reinforce this. I had thought about how we perceive what is beautiful and how superfical beauty can be but that was about it. I don’t know if I want to comment further, I need to have a think.
