No time for actual artwork tonight at Arena but lots achieved. My meeting with the directors went well, lots discussed and lots of decisions made. My P.V is definitely Friday 2nd December, 6-9, please come along and join me.
Also discussed was the Artists Talk, this is going to be a lot less formal than I had expected which is such a relief. I’m just going to be sitting in my studio space discussing my work, well it won’t be my studio space then though. Going to do some prep with a few images to show of previous projects etc… Maybe I could put some images and a bit of info up on the walls, my space will be cleared by then and it would mean people who can’t make it to the talk could still have a nose at it if they wanted to. I’ll have to talk to Pam and the others this week and see what they think. Or maybe I shouldn’t do that, I might be making a bit to formal then. Also I might not talk to anyone if it all written up on the walls!! Might just see if I can put some pics on the wall instead and I can talk about them.
I’m also going to be running a drop in workshop making tree books like my ‘Back to your Roots’ books. I’m excited about this, need to make some cardboard patterns of how I fold and cut them and some tree templates. Maybe make a simpler version for kids or make some started off books for them or use my hanging tree idea for them, the last idea would be the easiest for me but I think they’ll want to make the tree books when they’ve seen them. I’ll have to try a few things out and see. Need to collect cereal boxes, book pages and buy embroidery thread, black card or paper and glue.
