On reflection I think the experience I have gained from my first solo show is vast. Within the body of work most pieces complemented one another well, and there was enough space to accommodate everything. It’s hard to see how things will look together until you’re displaying the work in the exhibition space and this was something I struggled with. I tried things out at home first, but it’s not the same at all. I think it was more luck than anything that a lot of the work seemed perfect in its chosen place and there was hardly any altering of positions to be made.
I think I was also very lucky on my first show being with Alison, because she gave much guidance, ideas and patience making the experience run smoothly.
